UK Christmas Markets 2018: Top Markets

Yes, the UK is home to multiple Christmas Markets. They are spread throughout Britain with more options than you’ll be able to fit in your schedule this Christmas season! Luckily, most of the Christmas Markets are running from the middle of November to the beginning of January, so you have plenty of time to hit at least a couple of them. If you need help deciding which ones are worth going to, here are our recommendations on the two best Christmas Markets in the UK this year:

1)  Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Alright, we almost feel like it’s cheating to give this one away first. Truth is, the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is one of the very best UK Christmas Markets around. The reason? Everything is spectacular – from the food to merchants to performances. You’ll find just about anything you can imagine here.

Bring your ice skates and visit the ice rink! After you’re done, swing on over to the ice bar for a few drinks. The Christmas Market also has rides, a Ferris wheel, and other attractions. In addition to all this, they have a live circus show that goes on throughout the duration of the event that you won’t want to miss. As we said, this Christmas Market has it all.

Edinburgh

2)  Edinburgh Christmas Market

The Edinburgh Christmas Market gives you a few extra days to visit since it runs all the way to January 6th. You’ll want to use those extra days to go a couple times after the holiday when the market is less congested! In any matter, the Edinburgh Christmas Market is loaded with tons of events, performances, foods, and merchants to visit. The best part is that the market has a mixture of paid and free events available for families on a budget! You can pick and choose exactly how you want to spend your day instead of roaming aimlessly (unless you like that kind of thing).

One of the great events to visit at the Edinburgh Christmas Market this year is the Nativity Christmas Carol! It will be hosted on December 2nd at 3:00 pm and you won’t want to miss it. Take your partner, the family, or just go for a solo stroll through the market!
