If you're travelling with your family, your kids will love to go to Guliver's World Theme Park, which is a 20 minutes' drive from Manchester city. Another great spot to visit is the Heaton park, just 20 minutes away from the city. The park offers plenty activities for children, from the little squirrels walking along the roads to the playground and a small farm. The park also includes a golf camp and a  nice cafe and a restaurant with pleasent staff. It is also a frequent host of many events and fairs throughout the year.

There's a yearround indoor skiing and snowboarding at Chill Factore which is a 30 minutes' drive to the west of the city.  On your way back to Manchester, stop at Old Trafford, a museum and home stadium of Manchester city Football Team. If beautiful gardens, parks and nature is what you'd prefer to see, drive to the south of Manchester and visit the Fletcher Moss Gardens, a fairytale park which in summer often surprises with music and theater in open space. Well worth a visit, specially if you have the freedom of a car hire in Manchester.
