History of Malaga Airport
Málaga Airport is one of the oldest airports in Spain and its location remained the same from the beginnings of the air traffic in Malaga, which started in 1919. In 1960, the extension plans brought to life a passenger terminal building, followed by a second new one in 1972 and in 1991, Terminal 2 was built where almost all services started to operate. A general aviation terminal was opened in the old terminal building, and a large hangar was built 1995. The airport obtained a new control tower in 2002 and a new Terminal 3 building in 2010.
